Karl von Bälz (born November 4, 1860 in Bietigheim , Kingdom of Württemberg , † October 16, 1945 in Stuttgart ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Born as the son of a master builder and brother of Erwin Bälz , he studied law in Tübingen , Leipzig and Berlin . During his studies, like his brother, he became a member of the Germania Tübingen fraternity in 1879 . In 1896 he became a ministerial assistant in the Württemberg Ministry of Culture , in 1903 a ministerial advisor , in 1906 a ministerial director and in 1916 its president. In 1912 he was responsible for the reform of the university constitution, in 1921 for the constitution of the technical university and in 1922 for the reform of the agricultural university and promoted trade schools. In 1928 he retired.

Politically, he was active with the National Liberals and later with the German People's Party .
