Barthold Karl von Brietzke (born June 25, 1603 in Halberstadt , † November 12, 1647 in Weimar ) was a member of the Fruit Bringing Society .

Life

Brietzke is the son of the semi-urban canon Hans Georg von Brietzke and his wife Margarethe von Wrange .

There is evidence that Brietzke studied at the University of Leipzig from 1615 to 1616; However, he is only registered for the summer semester of 1617. That summer his father sends him to Eisleben as a page to the court of Count Johann Georg von Mansfeld .

In 1632 he was promoted to lieutenant and was seriously wounded in the battle of Lützen . But just two years later, Duke Ernst I appointed him stable master. In this position he married Christina Pflug on July 15, 1636 at Weimar Castle .

On September 24, 1636, Brietzke moved to the court of Duke Wilhelm IV of Saxe-Weimar in the same position .

When Dieterich von dem Werder came to the court of Weimar in mid-August 1639 , he accepted Brietzke into the Fruitful Society on behalf of Prince Ludwig I. von Anhalt-Köthen .
