Karl von Meyenn

Karl von Meyenn (* 1937 in Potsdam ) is a German physicist and physics historian.

Von Meyenn studied physics in Santiago de Chile and received his doctorate in 1971 from the University of Freiburg . He then taught at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile before joining Armin Hermann in 1975 at the Chair for the History of Natural Sciences and Technology at the Historical Institute of the University of Stuttgart . From 1985 to 1990 he was Professor of the History of Science at the Universidad Autónoma in Barcelona . In 1991 he went to the Max Planck Institute for Physics in Munich . Since 2000 he has been at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at Ulm University .

From 1979 to 2005 he was the editor of the extensive scientific correspondence from Wolfgang Pauli . In 2011 his two-volume selection edition of Erwin Schrödinger's correspondence was published . He also edited essays by Niels Bohr , books by Max Born and essays by Albert Einstein .
