Karl von Querfurth
Karl Christian Edler von Querfurth (born December 17, 1779 , † August 2, 1845 in Schönheiderhammer ) was a German entrepreneur and politician. He owned the Erzgebirge hammer mills in Schönheiderhammer and Wildenthal and was a member of the Saxon state parliament .
Live and act
The son of Annaberg mayor Johann Heinrich Conrad Querfurth (1747-1817) completed his military service in the royal Saxon army and achieved the rank of captain . In 1813 he was ennobled. In 1817 he took over the Förstel estate near Langenberg from his father. In 1820 he also bought the Pöckelgut in Mittweida , which bordered the Förstel corridor. In 1825 he bought the Schönheiderhammer hammer mill, where he moved his residence a short time later. In 1836 he also came into the possession of the Wildenthal hammer mill.
As a deputy member of the 17th rural electoral district, he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Saxon State Parliament from 1833 to 1840.
In the obituary of the yearbook for the miner and smelter it was said: Under his active direction the Hohofen and smelter business and the manufacture of tasteful cast goods at Schönheide were improved and the manufacture of pressed nails was introduced at Wildenthal.
