Karl von der Groeben (District Administrator)

Karl Moritz Friedrich Wilhelm Graf von der Groeben (born September 10, 1902 at Herrenhaus Divitz ; † January 1, 1989 in Lübeck ) was a German administrative lawyer and district administrator .

Life

Graf von der Groeben had a doctorate in law and lived on Gut Neudörfchen near Marienwerder . In 1922 he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Heidelberg . He worked from 1935 to 1945 as a district administrator in the Insterburg district . On April 1, 1932, he joined the NSDAP ( membership number 1,118,812). In the years 1939 to 1940 he was appointed as a deputy regional commissioner in Mława , the future Mielau district in the Zichenau administrative district annexed by Poland .

After the end of the war he worked from 1949 as a ministerial advisor in the Ministry of Social Affairs in Rhineland-Palatinate . He was also the deputy spokesman for the West Prussian Landsmannschaft .
