Karlbergs BK

Karlbergs BK ( Karlbergs Bollklubb ) is a Swedish sports club from Karlberg in Birkastaden, an area in Vasastaden , part of Stockholm's Norrmalm district .

Between 1928 and 1962, the club, which was founded in 1912, was represented several times in the highest Swedish ice hockey league. The club's soccer team won Division 3 Norra Svealand champions in 2011 and plays in Division 2 Norra Svealand in 2012 .

history

The association was founded on May 15, 1912 at a meeting in Karlbergsvägen 74 in Vasastaden under the name Bollklubben 74: an . The sports club was temporarily called Widar before it was registered in 1919 under the current name of Karlbergs Bollklubb . In addition to the men's soccer team, the club also ran a women's team between 1981 and 1988. There is also a youth department.

ice Hockey

The ice hockey team played in Sweden's top league for several years, first in the 1928/1929 season and lastly in 1961/1962. In the Elitserien , she achieved her best placement in the 1928/29 season with fourth place. With third place in 1938/39 she achieved the greatest success in the Svenska series i ishockey . In the new Division 1 she was third in the group north in 1944/45 and 1945/46 . In 1961/62 , the team rose as last-placed with just one point from fourteen games.

The team played their games in the multifunctional arena Hovet . From 1960 to 1962, the two-time national team player Benny Söderling played for Karlbergs BK.

Karlbergs BK plays his football matches in the Kristinebergs IP stadium in Stockholm's Kungsholmen district . In 1999 still fifth class in the "Stockholm Mellersta", the men's soccer team improved continuously and in 2012 is for the first time in the second division "Norra Svealand":

Between 1965 and 1966, the later first division player Jörgen Bengtsson played for the third-class team at the time. Another later Fotbollsallsvenskan player , Claes Marklund , was trained in the youth department of Karlbergs BK from the early 1960s.
