Olle Benny Söderling (born March 11, 1941 in Bromma , Stockholm , † April 25, 2009 in Solna ) was a Swedish bandy , ice hockey and football player .

Career

Söderling began his sporting career at Essinge IK . In 1960 he went to Karlbergs BK for a short time before joining AIK in 1962 through the agency of Tore Nilsson . Both represented the club in bandy and ice hockey, as well as in football.

Söderling made his debut for the AIK soccer team, which had been relegated from Allsvenskan the previous year , in Division 2 Svealand and contributed five goals in four league games to the second division championship. He was also successful in the subsequent promotion round: In the final 2-0 win over IS Halmia , he scored the second goal in stoppage time for the club, which thanks to the better goal difference was able to celebrate the return to first class. However, since he put his main focus on Bandy, he was hardly used in the Fotbollsallsvenskan in the two following years. After two years, there were nine first division games and four goals.

In 1966 Söderling moved to Hammarby IF , where he was also active in all three sports. After a year he returned to Essinge IK, for whom he was active as a bandy player until about 1978 and then also became the club's coach.

Söderling remained in his career without winning the title, but he got international honors. For the Swedish national bandy team he came to eleven missions and was part of the squad at the world championships in 1967, 1969 and 1971. He was twice on the ice for the national ice hockey team . In the Bandy he was also recognized as a Stor Grabb .
