Elitserien (1927-1935)
The Elitserien was between 1927 and 1935, the highest ice hockey league in Sweden . However, the Swedish championship title was played in cup form in a national finals during this time . The league replaced Klass I ishockey as the highest division in the country and was itself replaced by the Svenska serien i ishockey . There has been a professional ice hockey league of the same name in Sweden since 1975 .
