The 1949/50 season was the sixth season of Division 1 as the highest Swedish ice hockey division . Champion became the Södertälje SK . Nacka SK , UoIF Matteuspojkarna , Västerås SK and Atlas Diesels IF were relegated to the second division.

mode

In the main round, the league was divided into two groups (North and South). Each of the six teams per group played a total of ten games. The two group winners met in the championship final. The last two in each group were relegated directly to the second division. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
