The 1957/58 season was the 14th season of Division 1 as the highest Swedish ice hockey division . Master was for the fifth time in the club history Djurgårdens IF . Rönnskärs IF , IK Göta , Surahammars IF and GAIS Göteborg were relegated to the second division.

In the main round, the league was divided into two groups (North and South). Each of the eight teams per group played a total of 14 games. The first two in each group qualified for the final round, in which the champions were played. The last two in each group were relegated directly to the second division. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
