The 1981/82 Elitserien season was the seventh season of the Swedish Elitserien . Swedish champions were for the sixth time in the club's history of AIK Solna , while the newly promoted Timrå IK relegated directly back to the second division.
Regular season
mode
The ten teams of the Elitserien initially played against each other in 36 season games. While the first four teams qualified for the play-offs, the last placed rose directly to Division I and the penultimate had to compete against the best second division teams in the Kvalserien to stay up. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
