The 1940/41 season was the sixth season of the Svenska series i ishockey , the highest Swedish ice hockey league . Champion Hammarby IF . The IFK Mariefred and the IK Sture relegated to the second division.

In the main round, each of the eight teams played a total of seven games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the final round, in which the champions were played. The other four teams had to compete in the relegation round, the last two of which were relegated to the second division. The results from the main round were carried over to the final or relegation round. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
