Ulf Isaksson (born March 19, 1954 in Norfunda ; † December 26, 2003 ) was a Swedish ice hockey player who played for the Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League from 1973 to 1988 .
Career
Ulf Isaksson began his career as an ice hockey player at AIK Solna , for whose professional team he was active from 1973 to 1982 - initially in Division 1 and from the 1975/76 season in the newly founded Elitserien . In the 1977/78 and 1980/81 seasons , the winger was runner-up with AIK, before he won the Swedish championship title for the first time in the 1981/82 season in his third appearance in the finals with his team . In 1982 he was also elected to the Swedish World All-Star Team.
In the NHL Entry Draft 1982 he was selected in the fifth round as a total of 95th player by the Los Angeles Kings , for whom he scored seven goals and 15 assists in 50 games in the 1982/83 season in the National Hockey League . At the same time, he was in 16 games for the Kings farm team , the New Haven Nighthawks , in the American Hockey League on the ice. From 1983 to 1985 he played again for AIK and became champions for the second time with the team in the 1983/84 season . From 1985 to 1988 he last played for Arlanda Wings , for which he competed in Sweden's third and second division.
International
For Sweden Isaksson took part in the world championships in 1981 and 1982 and in 1981 in the Canada Cup . His greatest success with the national team was winning the silver medal at the 1981 World Cup.
