Jan Runo Jörgen Bengtsson (born October 2, 1943 in Anderstorp ) is a former Swedish football player . The defender was on the field in 100 games in the Allsvenskan for AIK and scored four goals.
career
Bengtsson started playing football in his hometown at Anderstorps IF. As a 16-year-old he made his debut in the adult team of the amateur club. He was then brought into the youth team by AIK, where his nine years older brother Inge Bengtsson was under contract. However, he could not recommend himself for the men's team playing in the Allsvenskan .
At the end of 1963, Bengtsson ended his engagement with the traditional club because he was drafted into military service. From 1965 he continued his football career with the third division club Karlbergs BK , which is especially known for its ice hockey team . At the end of the season there was relegation to the fourth division, but he stayed with the club for another season.
In 1967 Bengtsson moved to the second-rate Division 2 Svealand to Sundbybergs IK . After two years in the midfield of the Swedish lower house - Bengtsson's team achieved a 5th and a 7th place - he moved from the Sundbyberg community to the neighboring Solna community and again hired the AIK in Allsvenskan, which his brother left in 1965 would have.
Bengtsson made his debut at the beginning of the 1969 season on April 13 of the year in the 0-0 draw against Jönköpings Södra IF in the home Råsundastadion in the Swedish elite series. He started out as a striker for his new club, but only scored his first goal in September in a 3-0 away win at Åtvidabergs FF in Kopparvallen . In the following season he appeared mainly as a midfielder on the left flank on the field before he held a regular place on the left defensive side from the 1971 season .
With the newly signed Rolf Zetterlund and Torbjörn Ek in 1972 , Bengtsson and his team around the top performers Yngve Leback and Dag Szepanski achieved the best result in the club's history since winning the title in the 1936/37 season . Behind Åtvidabergs FF, the club managed the runner-up one point behind. After a seventh place in the 1973 season , in which 14 teams played for the first time in the Swedish elite series for the Von Rosens Cup as a championship trophy , Bengtsson left AIK and the Allsvenskan for professional reasons. Between 1974 and 1979 he stepped for the lower class Spånga IS against the ball before ending his active career. Later he appeared as a regular participant in the Stockholm Marathon , which he completed in 1983 with 3:01 hours.
