Karlheinz Bauer (archivist)
Karlheinz Bauer (born May 17, 1935 in Göppingen ) is a former German archivist and author.
Career
After attending the Freihof-Gymnasium in Göppingen , Bauer trained for high-level administration. After the examination, he worked as an administrative officer from 1956 to 1960 at the city treasury of the city of Stuttgart , from 1960 to 1966 at the main office of the city of Geislingen an der Steige . He did additional training at the State Archives in Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg and then switched to the archive service.
From 1966 to 1977 he was the city archivist in Geislingen an der Steige, where he was also in charge of the cultural office and the adult education center. In 1969 he founded the municipal music school in Geislingen together with music teacher Erich Läßle, which he directed until 1977. From 1977 until his retirement in 1995 he worked as the city archivist in the city of Aalen.
He lives as a pensioner in Amstetten (Alb-Donau district), is married and has two children.
Bauer deals with cultural history , was active in the historical field in adult education with lectures, seminars and study trips and is the author of publications.
In 1991 he received the Schubart Literature Prize from the city of Aalen.
In retirement he specialized in the cultural history of the Arab peoples and Islam .
In his private life, his passion is the organ. Since 1950 he has worked as an organist in Göppingen, Geislingen, Aalen and still today in the Geislingen church district.
