Karlheinz Heinzmann
Karlheinz Heinzmann (born October 16, 1941 in Zebau , Tepl district; † August 4, 2018 in Würzburg ) was a German entrepreneur and company founder .
Career
Heinzmann was born on October 16, 1941 in Zebau , Sudetenland (now the Czech Republic). After being expelled after the Second World War, he came to Kirchheim near Würzburg and completed an apprenticeship at Koenig & Bauer in Würzburg . The military service in the Bundeswehr , which he performed in the Air Force in Sardinia, interrupted his training. He passed the examination to become a master mechanical engineer at the Feuerland company in Kirchheim . From 1966 he worked as a works manager at the Frauenfeld company in Würzburg.
Company formation
In 1970 he registered his own business in Kitzingen . He started manufacturing and selling roller shutters in rented rooms in a former winery. From 1972 he developed his first own roller shutter profiles. In 1977 he started the export business selling roller shutter profiles to the United States. In 1979 he built a new production facility in the Goldberg industrial estate in Kitzingen and the manufacture of plastic windows and doors began.
After the political change in the GDR, he supported craftsmen who wanted to start their own business in this branch. In 1990 he founded a subsidiary in Oehna, Brandenburg . The production of roller shutters and prefabricated elements began in properties that were initially rented. In the following year, a plot of land in Oehna was acquired, a warehouse of the former LPG was converted and an administration building was added. With almost 20 employees, Heinzmann is the most important local employer. Even when the economy in the new federal states slowed down, he held onto the Oehna location. In 1993 the Kitzingen location was expanded by acquiring another piece of land in the Goldberg industrial estate. Since then, the company has been producing plastic windows, house doors and roller shutters on a total area of 12,000 m² with around 100 employees.
In 2010 Karlheinz Heinzmann retired from the company management and handed over the management to his two children Martina Heinzmann-Erhart and Peter Heinzmann.
Parish partnership
Contacts at the municipal political level were established through the establishment of the Heinzmann company in Brandenburg. After a visit by the Lord Mayor of Kitzingen, Rudolf Schardt, a Kitzinger Strasse was named in Oehna in October 1991 . Also in 1991, on the initiative of Heinzmann, who had sought close contact with the population from day one, a community partnership between Oehna and the wine town of Mainstockheim near Kitzingen came about.
Awards
In 2004 he was awarded the Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for outstanding services to the Brandenburg economy in creating and safeguarding jobs and the initiative of a community partnership between the Franconian Mainstockheim and the community of Oehna .
In 2012 he received the 32nd honorary award of the Free Voters FBW Kitzingen.
