Karlheinz Schmitt

Karlheinz Schmitt (born May 4 or June 16, 1970 in Darmstadt or Rastatt ) is a German actor .

Life

At the age of 15 years Karlheinz Schmitt began in his native Muggensturm a carpentry apprenticeship , on completion of which it until 1990 as a journeyman kept working and finally to the University student led. During this time and until the beginning of his artistic career, he also worked as an undertaker (a traditional carpenter's activity) and was deployed as a respirator in the local fire department.

In 1992 he began his four-year acting training at the School for Dance and Theater , affiliated with the SchlossTheater Rastatt , where he subsequently became a member of the ensemble and co-partner. During this time, together with Thomas Ruff, the Baden-musical dialect cabaret So wie mer sin, so du mer babble was created . In the following years he belonged to Lothar Trautmann's independent theater ensemble '95 for two years and was a guest at Theater die Insel , both in Karlsruhe.

This was followed by permanent engagements at the West German Tourneetheater Remscheid (2000 - 2004), during which time he was twice awarded the Wilhelm-Michael-Mund Theater Prize, at the Landestheater Tübingen (2005 - 2014) under the direction of Simone Sterr and at the Marburg Theater (2015 - 2018 ) under Matthias Faltz. He used the time between jobs for projects at the Feuchtwangen Cloister , Comödie Bochum , the Theater der Altstadt in Stuttgart, the Stuttgart 22 theater project and the Gessnerallee in Zurich .

Since 2018 he has been working as a freelancer, including in Stuttgart at the Alten Schauspielhaus and the Studio Theater as well as at the Theater Lindenhof Melchingen , the WLB Esslingen and the Theater BAAL novo .

Since 1997 he has also worked for film and television.

Since 2018 he has been touring with the monodrama Kindereien by Raymond Cousse.
