Karo Khachatryan

Karo Khachatryan (born in Armenia ) is an Armenian opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

education

Karo Khachatryan studied from 2004 to 2010 at the music academy in Yerevan with R. Hakobyanz and graduated with a bachelor's degree . In 2012 he began a master's degree in stage singing at the Rostock University of Music and Theater with Waldemar Wild . He has been a scholarship holder of the Horst Rahe Foundation since 2013 .

Engagements

He was a soloist in the Yerevan Opera Studio in 2004 and at the Armenian State Opera in 2005. He received engagements for Idomeneo 2013 in Bucharest , Joseph Haydn's Requiem in C minor in Kiel 2014, Schubert's E-flat major Mass in Rostock 2015, Dvořák's Stabat Mater in the Berlin Philharmonic in 2015 and the Manon project in Luxembourg with the Chamber Ensemble Klassik der Deutschen Oper Berlin in the same year. In 2016 he gave the Max im Freischütz at the Wernigerode Castle Festival.

In 2016 he made his debut in the role of Don José in Carmen at Theater Vorpommern , where he has been part of the ensemble since the 2016/17 season. He worked there as Riccardo in A Masked Ball and as Walther von der Vogelweide in Tannhäuser and the Singers' War in Wartburg .

Honourings and prices

Karo Khachatryan was the winner of national and international competitions such as the Maritime Competition at the Maritim Seehotel Timmendorfer Strand in 2012 and the international competition “ Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg ” (2013 and 2014).
