Karol Bielecki (born January 23, 1982 in Sandomierz , Poland ) is a former Polish handball player . His playing position was in the left backcourt .

Career

Bielecki started the handball game in Sandomierz. From 1999 to 2004 he played for KS Vive Kielce , with whom he became Polish champion and Polish cup winner. In 2004 Bielecki moved to the German Bundesliga club SC Magdeburg . In December 2007 he and his national team colleague Grzegorz Tkaczyk joined the Rhein-Neckar Löwen .

Bielecki is 2.02 m tall and weighs 100 kg.

He is a member of the Polish national team . At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he was the top scorer with 55 goals.

In a test international match against Croatia in June 2010, he injured his left eyelid and the eyeball in a defensive act by Josip Valčić . After he had a second operation on June 15 in Tübingen, Karol Bielecki first announced that the vision in his left eye could not be saved and that he would have to end his career. However, he qualified this statement a few days later and announced a quick comeback. On July 22, 2010, Bielecki celebrated his comeback after six weeks. In the test match against the regional division TSB HN-Horkheim, Bielecki played over 30 minutes with protective goggles and scored the 1-0 after two minutes. He played his first appearance in the 1st Bundesliga since his injury on September 1st, 2010 against FRISCH AUF! Goeppingen ; he scored eleven hits.

He ended his career after the 2017/18 season.
