Karol Jokl (born August 29, 1945 in Partizánske ; † October 28, 1996 in Bratislava ) was a Slovak football player who was active as a player at the time of Czechoslovakia . His father was also a very good football player.

Club career

Jokl played for Iskra Partizánske in his youth. At the age of 18 he moved to TJ Slovan Bratislava CHZJD . With Slovan he won the European Cup Winners' Cup . In the final in Basel on May 21, 1969, FC Barcelona were beaten 3-2. Further successes with Slovan: Cup winners Czechoslovakia (1968, 1974), champions of Czechoslovakia (1970, 1974), cup winners Slovakia (1970, 1974), UEFA Intertoto Cup winners (1968, 1970, 1972, 1973, 1974).

National team

Jokl made his debut in the Czechoslovak national team at the age of 18. In 27 games he scored eleven goals. The highlight of his career in the national team was his participation in the soccer world championship in Mexico in 1970 , where he was used in all three games of Czechoslovakia.

Coaching career

In 1994, Jokl became Dušan Galis’s assistant coach for two years at his old club Slovan.
