Career

The goalkeeper Karsten Lange began his career with FC Kilia Kiel and later switched over Hertha BSC from Berlin to VfR Neumünster . In the summer of 1981, Lange then moved to TuS Schloß Neuhaus from Paderborn in the Oberliga Westfalen . With the Neuhäuser, Lange became champions a year later and made it to the 2nd Bundesliga . However, he was overshadowed by regular goalkeeper Ulrich Greifenberg . Lange made his second division debut on May 28, 1983 in a 2-2 draw at Neuhäuser at MSV Duisburg and a week later made his second second division game against VfL Osnabrück . At this point, however, the Neuhäuser had already relegated.
