Kaspar Andreas Ritter von Jacomini-Holzapfel-Waasen (born October 17 or 18, 1726 in St. Daniel am Karst ( Štanjel ), County of Gorizia ; † August 15, 1805 ) was a benevolent speculator, who in the second half of the 18th Century in Styria . The 6th district of the city of Graz and also the most important square and traffic center of this city is named after him: Jakominiplatz .

Initially, Jacomini worked as postmaster of Cilli in Lower Styria (today Celje in Slovenia ) and achieved a considerable fortune through more or less risky speculations. He acquired large estates and finally moved his residence to Graz. An imperial resolution in 1782 triggered the abandonment of the city fortifications and the sale of the fortress grounds. Jacomini took advantage of the unique opportunity and in 1784 bought most of this land south of the Iron Gate , in other words where the “Jakomini” district extends today. He sold the land he had acquired, allegedly cheaply, to various citizens of Graz, placing the condition that they should be built over. So in the years up to 1820 the "Jakomini suburb" was created. Some of the petty bourgeois buildings and narrow streets that were built at the time are still preserved today.
