Kaspar Hill

Kaspar Huegel (born August 13, 1906 in Lovrin , Temes County , Kingdom of Hungary , Austria-Hungary , † after 1994) was an Austrian teacher and during the Second World War high school councilor for the German-language school system in the Kingdom of Romania .

Life

Hügel came from the ethnic group of the Banat Swabians and studied education, psychology and German in Cluj ( German:  Klausenburg ) and Munich , where he was active in youth work. From 1931 he taught at the German-language educational institution Banatia in Timișoara . In 1940, Hügel became "Head of the Banat Regional Office of the Education Authority", and in 1941 he succeeded Nikolaus Hans Hockl as "Head of the Education Authority of the German Ethnic Group in Romania", based in Brașov ( Kronstadt in German ).

Until the Royal coup in August 1944 was the Nazi activist school inspector for the German-language school system in the Kingdom of Romania and was responsible for the DC circuit of the teachers 'associations to "German teachers' responsibility. Hill endeavored to familiarize the teachers with National Socialist ideas and its political and educational goals. The education authority controlled the actions and political attitudes of the teachers.

Hügel fled with his family from the approaching Soviet troops and settled in Lochau ( Vorarlberg ), Austria . From 1945 he worked at Austrian schools and retired in 1963 as a principal teacher.
