Kate Maclean

Kate Maclean (* 1958 in Dundee ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labor Party .

Political career

Before being elected to the Scottish Parliament , Maclean was a member of the Dundee Regional Council between 1988 and 1996 and then of the Dundee City Council from 1995 to 1999. In the first Scottish general election in 1999, Maclean ran in the constituency of Dundee West . Although the Labor Party was able to win the relevant constituency for the British House of Commons in the 1997 general election by a clear margin, Maclean won the direct mandate for the Scottish Parliament by a small margin of 121 votes. In the parliamentary elections in 2003 , Maclean was able to increase their lead and defend their mandate despite losing votes. At the 2007 parliamentary elections she has not raced for more. Joe FitzPatrick from SNP won the constituency mandate .
