Katerina Angelaki-Rooke
Katerina Angelaki-Rooke ( Greek Κατερίνα Αγγελάκη-Ρουκ , born February 22, 1939 in Athens ; † January 21, 2020 ibid) was a Greek poet and translator .
Life
Katerina Angelaki-Rooke studied in Athens, southern France and Switzerland and was a qualified interpreter for English, French and Russian. In addition to her lyrical work, she wrote numerous articles and essays on Greek poetry and translated poetry. She has also given international readings and lectures at universities in Harvard , Cornell and Princeton, among others . More than twenty volumes of her poetry have appeared in Greek. Your texts have been translated into several languages. There are translations into German by Jan Kuhlbrodt and Jorgos Kartakis . In 2017, the band Die Engel sind die Huren des Himmelreichs appeared in German . Poems , translated by Jorgos Kartakis and Dirk Uwe Hansen with an afterword by Spyros Aravanis.
