Princess Katharina von Holstein-Beck ( February 23, 1750 - December 20, 1811 ) was the daughter of Peter August Herzog von Holstein-Beck , Russian General Field Marshal and Governor of Estonia, and his second wife, Countess Natalia Nikolaievna Golovin.

Life

Katharina von Holstein-Beck married Prince Ivan Baryatinskij in Reval on January 8, 1767, who was a Russian colonel at the time. After her separation from her husband she bought on March 29, 1800 from the secret Oberhof printer Georg Jakob Decker the castle Friedrichsfelde near Berlin. In Prussia, with the approval of the king, she took on her maiden name again and, as Duchess Katharina von Holstein-Beck, ran a generous household with close contacts to the royal family until her death. In addition to Friedrichsfelde Palace, she also owned a house in Berlin on Pariser Platz .
