Katherine DeMille

Katherine DeMille (born Katherine Paula Lester ; born June 29, 1911 in Vancouver , British Columbia , Canada ; † April 27, 1995 in Tucson , Arizona ) was an American actress .

Life

Katherine DeMille was orphaned at the age of nine. Her father died in World War I and her mother died of tuberculosis . The American film director and producer Cecil B. DeMille and his wife adopted her and so she later got into the film business. She played her greatest roles in the 1930s. In the following decade only a few film appearances followed. She last appeared as an actress in 1956. In total, she was seen in 31 productions.

In 1937 she married Anthony Quinn . She had five children with him. The marriage ended in divorce in 1965.
