Kathleen Raine

Kathleen Jessie Raine , CBE (born June 14, 1908 in Ilford , Essex , now part of London , † July 6, 2003 in London ) was a British writer.

She attended County High School in Ilford and later studied science and psychology at Girton College , Cambridge . There she received a master’s degree in 1929 .

Raine was married several times and had two children with Charles Madge .

Her poems are often inspired by the Scottish landscape and reveal a mystical vision of nature influenced by William Blake , WB Yeats, and Neoplatonism .
