Katja Anton Cronauer (2014)

Katja Anton Cronauer (born April 4, 1969 in Rastatt , personal name Anton Cronauer , born Katja Cronauer ) is of German nationality, translates novels, writes texts and creates computer collages . Cronauer does not want to be assigned to any gender and sees itself as non-binary .

Live and act

After studying computer science and doing a doctorate on social movements and internet communication, Katja Anton Cronauer discovered digital art in 2004 . Cronauer works closely with his mother Heidi Cronauer - visual artist and illustrator  - and creates digital works, inspired by her paintings and drawings.

After exhibitions in the Baden-Baden area , Cronauer's art was presented for the first time in Berlin in 2014. For six months the oil painting Die Träumende and digital variations were on view in the rooms of the Feminist Women's Health Center (FFGZ). The pictures were in black and white on the cover of the 78th issue of Clio - The magazine for women's health .

Cronauer translates books with left-wing political and anarchist content (often found by Cronauer himself) with the aim of bringing what has been written to the German-speaking readership, especially if it has so far received little or no consideration in the local book market.

A nine-year stay in Canada, where Cronauer studied and worked actively for seven years in the collective bookstore Spartacus Books Educational Society, was formative for Cronauer . In addition, Cronauer co-organized several actions of the group APEC-Alert, which mobilized protests against the APEC summit in 1997 and which were a precursor to the WTO protests in 1999.

Cronauer lives and works in Berlin. In November 2018, the name Anton was used in an interview, along with masculine pronouns .
