Katja Jung (* 1968 in Bonn ) is a German theater actress .

Life

Katja Jung completed an acting degree at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . During her studies she performed guest roles a. a. at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, the Theater Potsdam and the Hebbel Theater in Berlin. From 1996 to 2006 she had an engagement at the Theater Basel , where she a. a. in the plays Life a Dream by Pedro Calderón de la Barca , Three Times the Life of Yasmina Reza and Whole Days, Whole Nights by Xavier Durringer .

At the Salzburg Festival 2006 she played in VIKTOR! Happiness is a warm gun based on Roger Vitrac, directed by Barbara Weber. For her role in Jonas Hassen Khemiri's Invasion! Katja Jung was nominated for the Nestroy Theater Prize as best actress in 2009 . Since the 2007/08 season she has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Wien .
