Katja Koren (born August 6, 1975 in Maribor ) is a former Slovenian ski racer .

On December 22, 1993, Koren surprisingly won the Super-G in Flachau with the start number 66 . A few weeks later, she caused a sensation at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer , when she was in the lead with the number 33 after the first run of the slalom . Although she was overtaken by Vreni Schneider and Elfi Eder in the second run , winning the bronze medal was still the greatest success of her career.

She then reached further podium places in slalom and top ten placements in giant slalom and Super-G . She announced her retirement from active skiing in 1998.
