Katja Rost

Katja Rost (* 1976 in Gera ) is a German social scientist . She teaches and researches at the University of Zurich as professor of sociology and private lecturer in economics .

Career

Rost studied sociology and cultural studies at the University of Leipzig . In 2006 she completed her doctorate in business administration with a focus on social structure and innovation at the Technical University of Berlin . In 2010 she completed her habilitation with Margit Osterloh on Different Views on Corporate Governance and received the Venia Legendi in business administration from the University of Zurich. In the same year she took on an assistant professorship in organizational sociology at the University of Mannheim, but was appointed professor of management at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena just one year later . Since 2012 she has been employed as a full professor of sociology at the University of Zurich with a focus on economic and organizational sociology.

research

Katja Rost's research focuses on economic and organizational sociology, digital sociology, social networks and diversity. She is a member of the University Council of the University of Lucerne , President of the Equal Opportunities Commission of the University of Zurich and Deputy Chair of the Center for Higher Education and Science Studies.

In addition to scientific publications, Katja Rost has been writing a monthly guest column for NZZ am Sonntag since 2017 . In 2016, she also wrote a monthly column for SonntagsBlick .
