Katrin Bibiella

Katrin Bibiella (* 1964 in Weimar ) is a German church musician , literary scholar and author .

Live and act

After an apprenticeship as a gardener, Bibiella initially studied church music in Leipzig and Bremen . She passed the A-exam and the concert organist diploma . In a further course she studied general and comparative literature, philosophy and history in Bielefeld and Mainz . In 2003 she received her doctorate with the work Pictures for an Aesthetics of Counter-Creation: Peter Huchel and René Char . Since 1986 she has worked as a church musician, first in Leipzig, then in Herford and finally in Oppenheim .

With her husband Ralf Bibiella, church musician of the Katharinenkirche in Oppenheim , she worked on transcriptions for organ duo of well-known works, such as B. Gustav Mahler's 9th Symphony or Johann Sebastian Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 . Together with her husband, she regularly performs them on the Woehl organ in the Katharinenkirche and makes CD recordings of the same.
