Kay Brinkmann

Kay Brinkmann (born before 1965) is a German officer, Brigadier General of the Army of the Bundeswehr and since July 1, 2018 Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) Plans in the Multinational Corps North-East in Szczecin , Poland .

Military career

Brinkmann joined the armored forces of the Bundeswehr as an officer candidate . During his officer training, he completed a three-year degree in educational science from 1983 to 1986 at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich . Various uses followed in the armored force. From 1999 to 2000 Brinkmann graduated from the US Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth ( Kansas ), from which he graduated with a Masters in Military Art and Science . From 2002 to 2004 Brinkmann was the commander of the 413 tank battalion in Torgelow . From 2004 to 2006 he was employed at the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin , where he was responsible as a consultant for the military-political evaluation of Bundeswehr operations and exercises . From 2006 to 2008 Brinkmann was a staff officer G3 deployment and exercise in the 13th Panzer Grenadier Division in Leipzig . Brinkmann then completed a master's degree at the National War College in Washington DC , which he completed as a Master of Science in National Security Strategy . From 2009 to 2012 he was deployed as a group leader for G3 operations and exercises in the Army Command in Koblenz . Another ministerial assignment followed as Head of Military Policy Europe and Eurasia in the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin. From July 2014 to October 2015 Brinkmann, was promoted to brigadier general, as a Senior Military Advisor in the UN mission UNAMA in Afghanistan in foreign assignment . On his return, he took up the post of Deputy Head of Office of the Armed Forces Office on December 1, 2015 . He handed this over to Colonel Frank Schmitz on July 1, 2018. Brinkmann became Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) Plans in the Multinational Corps North-East in Szczecin, Poland.

Brinkmann is married and has a daughter.
