Kaz Lux (born January 7, 1948 in Oosterhout ; actually Kazimierz Lux ) is a Dutch singer of Polish origin.

Life

Lux made his first recording as the winner of a talent competition in 1968. Since the Bovema record company band was not professional enough, the record was made with studio musicians like Jan Akkerman and Pierre van der Linden , including pieces like Down Man and Woman's Gone . Shortly afterwards, through the manager of the Amsterdam group The Outsiders , John van Setten, he received the offer to play in the group Brainbox, which was newly founded by van der Linden .

In 1971, Lux left Brainbox to pursue a solo career. At EMI he released his first solo album Kazimierz Lux cs in 1972 with guitarist Rudy de Queljoe and bassist Jan Hollestelle . The record was produced by Brainbox guitarist John Schuursma .

One year he recorded the LP I'm the Worst Partner I Know with English producer Mike Vernon , who became known through his collaboration with Fleetwood Mac . The album, with studio musicians such as Pete Wingfield (piano), Joe Jammer (guitar) and Bruce Rowland (drums), including Jan Akkerman on individual tracks , was well received by the critics.

With Akkerman he also recorded the concept album Eli in 1976 on Atlantic Records , which is still considered the artistic highlight of his career.

In 1982 Lux started a tour with the newly reunited band Brainbox, without Akkerman, but with Rudy de Queljoe .
