Qianjiang Group
The Qianjiang Group Co., Ltd. ( Chinese 钱江 , Pinyin Qián Jiāng , listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange under No. 913) is a manufacturer of scooters , motorcycles and quads with displacements between 50 and 250 cm³ in Wenling / Zhejiang Province in the People's Republic of China . With around 13,500 employees and an annual production of more than 1.2 million units, Qianjiang, founded in 1971, is one of the largest manufacturers in China. Other products include garden tools, pumps, compressors and water boilers.
The vehicles have been exported under the Keeway brand since 1999 . In China itself they are known under the brand name Qianjiang , after the Qiantang River ( Chinese 钱塘江 , Pinyin Qián Táng Jiāng ). Slightly different English names are used for the same company, such as Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle Co., Ltd. and China Qianjiang Group . By contrast, Changjiang another Chinese motorcycle brand of Dong Tian Enterprise Co., Ltd . In Germany and Austria, the scooters marketed as “Explorer” and “Generic” are also manufactured by Qianjiang.
In 2005 the Qianjiang Group Co., Ltd took over the motorcycle manufacturer Benelli .
The European headquarters are in Szentendre , Hungary . The German importer is Karcher AG in Birkenfeld, Württemberg .
