description

The river rises in the bog of Loosalu in the southern part of the rural community Juuru in Rapla County . It flows into the Gulf of Finland at Keila-Joa in Harju County . Its average discharge rate is 6.4 m³ / s, its catchment area 682 km².

The river is particularly rich in perch and pike in the upper reaches .

In the town of Keila in particular , the river is used by local industry. Nearby is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Estonia, the Keila waterfall ( Keila juga ).
