No time for assholes! ( ... listen to your heart ) is an autobiography by the TV chef and book author Horst Lichter , published in 2016 by the Gräfe und Unzer publishing house .

Horst Lichter describes his life in the biography created by and about him. In the book he describes his earliest thoughts in his childhood, his first contacts with girls in his youth, his professional career, his love for cooking, motorcycles and old cars, and, most importantly, the death of his mother. Horst Lichter sheds light on how his mother lived, what upbringing he enjoyed with her and the circumstances of her death. Lichter describes how he cooks himself in the television shows in which he participated, for example Lanz! or Lafer! Lights! Delicious! , always seemed like a clown and learned to accept this role. Lichter goes into his first restaurant and describes how it came about that he had less and less time for his family. He also goes into the death of his child, and how severe this endurance test was, which ultimately led to the breakup of his first marriage.
Lichter describes the death of his mother in the book as a kind of "turning point" in his life. He realized that his life was finite too, and he decided to have "no more time for assholes" from now on. In this respect, the literary work is to be seen as a general overview of his life, with all its ups and downs.
Furthermore, Lichter describes how his relationship with the television chefs Johann Lafer , Kolja Kleeberg , Steffen Henssler , Sarah Wiener and Alfons Schuhbeck was, or how the relationship with them developed. Lichter also points out that in his life he was not always the one to be proud of. Lichter also describes his role in the TV series Bares for Rares and why he feels particularly comfortable in this role.
Lights illuminates many light and dark sides of his life and his environment.
