Keldysch gold medal
The Keldysch gold medal ( Russian Золотая медаль имени М.В. Келдыша ) was named after the Soviet mathematician Mstislav Vsevolodowitsch Keldysch . From 1980 to 1990 it was awarded by the Academy of Sciences of the USSR . Since 1993 it has been awarded by the Russian Academy of Sciences for outstanding achievements in the field of applied mathematics and mechanics . The award is made irregularly.
