Career

McBroom drove her first FIS races in December 2004 and celebrated her first victories just two months later. From next winter it was also used in the Nor-Am Cup , where it achieved top 10 placements from the start. She celebrated her first victory in this racing series on February 13, 2007 in the downhill of Big Mountain , with which she reached fifth place in the downhill classification in the 2006/07 season . McBroom's best result at the Junior World Championships was tenth in the Downhill in Formigal 2008 . In the same year she became Canadian champion in super combined. After she had only achieved one podium place in the Nor-Am Cup in the 2007/08 season , she achieved four second places (three in the Super-G and one in the Downhill) and a third place in the first month of the 2008/09 season , which finally brought her to second place in the Super-G classification and third place in the downhill classification. The season came to an early end for the Canadian, however, because on February 1, 2009, she suffered serious injuries to her right knee in a fall in the Nor-Am giant slalom in Nakiska .

After her injury, McBroom could not take part in any competitions in the entire winter of 2009/2010. She made her racing comeback at the beginning of December 2010, when she took part in two World Cup races for the first time in Lake Louise , but only achieved placements in the bottom field. In the subsequent Nor-Am-Cup races she was able to keep up with the leaders again. After two victories in FIS races at the end of 2010, McBroom suffered the next serious injury at the beginning of next year in Super-G training in Saalbach-Hinterglemm , a fracture of the left lower leg.

McBroom began studying at Montana State University in Bozeman in 2011 and has been racing for the university team Montana State Bobcats since January 2012 after a one-year injury break .
