Kenefick is a city in Liberty County in the US state of Texas in the United States .
geography
Located in southeast Texas, 37 miles northeast of Houston , at the intersection of Farm Roads 1008 and 2797, is 110 miles to the east from the Louisiana border, to the southwest 80 miles from the Gulf of Mexico , and has a total area of 4 .0 km², of which 0.1 km² is water.
history
The Beaumont, Sour Lake and Western Railway laid their tracks in this area in 1904 and commissioned the Kenefick Construction Company , after whose owner the settlement that was then formed along the tracks was named.
Demographic data
According to the 2000 census, 667 people lived here in 235 households and 195 families. The population density was 169.4 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 98.05% White, 0.00% African American, 0.30% Native American, 0.30% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, and 0.60% other ethnic groups.
