Kenji Haneda ( Japanese 羽 田 憲 司 , Haneda Kenji ; born December 1, 1981 in Ichikawa , Chiba Prefecture ) is a Japanese football coach and former football player .

career

Haneda began playing football during elementary school where he played in the Shioyaki Elementary School team and then in the Myōden Middle School. He then attended the Funabashi high school in the neighboring community , which has already produced several professional footballers. In his final year of school he was with a special permit in the team of the first division club Urawa Red Diamonds . After graduating from school, he was signed by the Kashima Antlers in 2000 , loaned to Cerezo Osaka in 2007 , and taken over in 2009 and ended his playing career with Vissel Kobe in 2012 .

With the Japanese national team , he qualified for the 2001 World Youth Championship .

Since 2013 he has been working as a coach at Cerezo Osaka, first at their soccer school, in 2014 for their U-18 team and since 2015 as a coach for the men's team. From 2016 to 2020 he held the same position at the Kashima Antlers.
