Kenji Nishiyama

Kenji Nishiyama ( Japanese 西山 健 治 , Nishiyama Kenji ; * around 1950) is a Japanese studio and jazz musician ( trombone ).

Kenji Nishiyama worked in the Japanese jazz scene from the 1970s a. a. with Nobuo Hara and His Sharps & Flats ( Smashing , 1978), with Tatsuya Takahashi and his big band Tokyo Union as well as in the trio of Tatsuya Takahashi and in the fusion band Zoom ( Zooomin ' , with Naoki Kitajima , Kazumasa Akiyama , Nobuyoshi Ino , Motohiko Hino , Kimiko Itoh ). In the 1980s he was still playing with Kazuao Yashiro , Harumi Lameko , Masahiko Ozu , Yasuko Agawa and Sadao Watanabe ( Good Time for Love , 1986). In the field of jazz, Tom Lord lists him in 14 recording sessions between 1978 and 1991, most recently in the big band of Takeshi Inomata . As a studio musician, he also worked with Akina Nakamori , Akira Senju , Kaoru Wada , with the rock band Mescaline Drive around the singer Yoko Itsumi and with the pop duo Aming (with Haruko Kato and Takako Okamura ).
