Kenneth A. Kitchen

Kenneth Anderson Kitchen (* 1932 ) is a British archaeologist and Egyptologist . He has taught at Liverpool University , where he continues to give many lectures after his retirement .

Kitchen is mainly engaged in research and research in the following areas:

• Egyptology
  • Translations and annotations of hieroglyphic inscriptions from the Ramesside period
  • Research into the history of ancient Egypt , especially the New Kingdom and the Third Intermediate Period
  • Connections of Ancient Egypt with the Middle East and East Africa

• Ancient Middle East
  • History, inscriptions and culture of pre-Islamic Arabia and the Levant

• Ancient Egypt, Middle East, Hebrew Bible
  • Historical, literary and cultural background of the Hebrew Bible , based on empirical and factual studies of the conditions in the Middle East at that time

Kitchen has written many publications in these areas . The best known deal with the life and work of Ramses II.
