Kenta tsugami
Kenta Tsugami ( Japanese 津 上 研 太 , Tsugami Kenta ; born August 20, 1965 ) is a Japanese jazz musician (saxophone).
Kenta Tsugami took lessons from Yoshio Otomo and George Otsuka when he was in college; In 1987 he first appeared as a professional musician with Otsuka and Ryōjirō Furusawa . In the following years he played a. a. with Imawano Kyoshiro , Akira Sakata , from the 1990s a. a. with Kurumi Shimizu ( Kurumisan 1995/96) and from the end of the decade in Otomo Yoshihide's New Jazz Ensemble and New Jazz Quintet . He was also a member of the Date Course Pentagon Royal Garden and smelt recordings of Yosuke Yamashita ( Dr. Kanzo , 1998), Aketagawa Shoji & Aketa Nishiogi Sentimental Philharmony Orchestra ( Small Papillon , 1999), Chie Ayado and Naruyoshi Kikuchi ( Tasting A Jazz , 2004) with. In 2000 he founded the band Bozo , for which he also composed and arranged. The formation consisted of Hiroshi Minami (piano), Hiroaki Mizutani (bass) and Akira Sotoyama (drums); a first album was released on Body Electric Records. In the field of jazz, Tom Lord lists him in eleven recording sessions between 1995 and 2006.
