The Kenya Commercial Bank FC (KCB) is a Kenyan football club from Nairobi that has played in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL), the first division of Kenya, since 1999 . The club plays its home games at the Nairobi City Stadium .
history
KCB FC was founded in 1993 as part of the KCB Sports Club and is sponsored by the Kenya Commercial Bank . In 1994 the club started in the regional league Nairobi Division Two and rose in the first season by a second place in the Nairobi Division One . In 1995 the title was in Division One and in 1996 in the Liga Nairobi Super Two , with which KCB played from 1997 in the National Super League , the second division of Kenya. This year they reached fifth place in the league and the semi-finals in the Moi Golden Cup , which they lost to the eventual cup winner Eldoret KCC . In 1998 KCB won the National Super League and rose to the Kenyan Premier League. In 2001 the team again reached the semi-finals of the Moi Golden Cup, which was lost to Mathare United 0-3. In the 2003/04 season, KCB finally won the national cup against Thika United 1-0 with a goal from Robert Odhier .
The club achieved their best final position so far, a fourth place, in the 2013 season under coach Juma Abdallah . KCB's striker Jacob Keli was the most dangerous player of the season with 17 goals. At the KPL Awards , KCB players and coaches received further awards: In addition to the Golden Boot Award , Jacob Keli was named Player of the Year , Juma Abdallah as best coach and Brian Osumba as best midfielder .
