Kenya Revenue Authority FC (KRA) is a Kenyan football club from Nairobi that has played in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL), the highest league in Kenya, since 2014 . The club plays its home games at Nyayo National Stadium and Nairobi City Stadium .

history

From November 2005, Ken Kenyatta , a former goalkeeper of the Kenyan national soccer team , coached young people from Nairobi's suburbs and took part in local tournaments with them. In 2006 he registered the football club with the Kenya Football Federation and won the Kenya Revenue Authority as a sponsor.

In their first season 2006/07 KRA played in the second division of Kenya and reached third place in Group B. In the national cup, the President's Cup , they reached the quarter-finals that they played against Gir Mahia . The following season, KRA FC finished second in the league and reached the semi-finals of the KFF Cup, the renamed national cup, which they lost again 2-1 to Gor Mahia. In 2009, KRA missed a promotion place by just one point, they finished the season in third place. In the national cup (FKL Cup) they lost 3-1 in the round of 16 against Posta Rangers . In the 2010 season, KRA again reached third place in the second division, but in 2011 they slipped back to fifth place and in 2012 they finished the season in tenth place, in the midfield of Zone A. In the FK Cup, however, KRA was able to reach the quarter-finals they lost to Sofapaka 0-2. In the 2013 season, KRA was first in Zone A, Group 1 of the second division and qualified for the relegation game against the Posta Rangers. After a 2-2 draw in regular time, they won the penalty shoot-out 5-4 and were promoted to the KPL. Despite the rise, the club could hardly invest in new players, as there are new sponsorship discussions only in June.

After promotion, the club moved for home games from the Public Service Grounds to Nyayo National Stadium , Nairobi City Stadium and Kasarani Stadium .
