The Moi International Sports Complex (also Moi International Sports Center and Kasarani Stadium ) is a soccer and athletics stadium and sports center in Kasarani , Nairobi , Kenya . It is the largest stadium in Kenya.

Stadion

Built in August 1987 stadium is the home ground of the Kenyan Premier League playing clubs Gor Mahia FC , Mathare United and Tusker FC . In addition, the stadium is next to the Nyayo National Stadium and the home ground of the Kenyan national football team .

The stadium hosted the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2009 .

renovation

Renovation work on the stadium began in January 2010. These cost 900 million KES , some of which was borne by a Chinese investor, and were carried out by the Chinese construction company Sheng Li Engineering Construction Company Limited . The stadium reopened in March 2012 and has since had a capacity of 60,000 seats.

Sports center

The Kasarani Indoor Arena with a capacity of 5,000 seats is located within the sports center in addition to the stadium . This is used for volleyball , gymnastics and other sports.

The Kasarani Aquatic Complex is a swimming pool with an Olympic competition track, a pool for scuba divers with three diving platforms up to 10 meters, a training pool and a children's pool.

The Stadion Hotel offers 108-room accommodations, a restaurant , bars , a business center and a gift shop.
