Nakuru AllStars is a Kenyan football club from Nakuru that has played in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL), the first division of Kenya, since 2014 . The club plays its home games in the 8,200-seat Afraha Stadium .

history

The club played from 2005 in the second division of Kenya, first as St. Joseph Youth FC , from 2008 as AC Nakuru . Except for 2008, they always ended up in the lower third of the table.

In May 2011 AC Nakuru was bought by Nakuru Allstars Calcio, investors led by Pierre Vendelboe - co-founder of the Danish soccer website bold.dk - and Robert Muthomi. A purchase of the Nairobi City Stars was planned the week before , but those responsible for the Nairobi football club resigned at short notice. Muthomi had previously founded a U-15 team that was incorporated into the AC Nakurus structure.

As of August, the club was renamed Nakuru AllStars, based on the former Nakuru AllStars and two-time champions, the home stadium moved from Afraha Stadium to the Nakuru Athletics Club. The new coach was the former national player Simon Mulama , the previous coach Patrick Mudanya took over the post of assistant coach.

In 2012, the club landed in fourth place in Zone B of the second division, the best position at the end of a season until then. At the beginning of 2013 Peter Okidi took over the coaching position. In the same year, the Nakuru AllStars found a new sponsor in Menengai Oil Refineries. The contract runs for three years, with 2 million K. Sh. per season. For this, the brand Top Fry of Menengai Oil Refineries was taken over into the club name.

In 2013, after the end of the season, the football club was actually third in Zone B - Division 1, but a draw against Comply FC due to a wrongly placed player was subsequently considered a victory for Nakuru AllStars and thus they qualified with one point ahead of West Kenya Sugar FC for the relegation game.

The promotion to the KPL came with a 1-0 win against Oserian FC, the winner of Zone B - Division 2, with a goal from Wilson Andati .

As a result of the promotion, the Nakuru AllStars moved from the Nakuru Athletics Club back to the previous home stadium, Afraha Stadium.

In the 2014 season, Oliver Pagé , who was already in charge of the Nairobi City Stars in Kenya, took over the role of coach from Peter Okidi, who became assistant coach. He signed a two-year contract.
