Kerman Khodro

Kerman Khodro is an automobile manufacturer founded in 1990 with headquarters in Bam , Iran . Until 1996 the company was called Modiran Pars . The manufacturer started production in 1996 under the management of Daewoo Motor . The company currently operates independently and produces vehicles of various brands for the Iranian and surrounding markets under license. Around 6,000 people work for the company, which produces over 350,000 vehicles annually.

From 1991, however, the Daewoo Espero and the Daewoo Racer were included as import models in the range. The first model produced by the company was the Daewoo Cielo , followed by the Daewoo Matiz . These are still important products of the company today. The Matiz was also available as a notchback sedan especially for the Iranian market. In 2003, the Volkswagen Gol and the Hyundai Avante and Hyundai Verna models followed . In the following year, the Hyundai Sonata was finally added, but it flopped in Iran and was then discontinued two years later. This was then replaced by the Hyundai Santa Fe . The Lifan 520 and Lifan 620 have also been in production since 2008 .

The company also owns the Modiran Vehicle Manufacturing joint venture founded in 2001 . Another joint venture with Chery Automobile and Solitac was agreed on August 10, 2007 and is based in Babol . A sum of 3,849,850,000,000 IRR was raised for the construction of the third plant . The Chery S21 has been manufactured here since the nine-month construction ended .
